Migration of GTX Service resources to Scaleway
GTX Service is an international organization providing a comprehensive after-sales service for brand owners and retailers such as Rooks, GTX Group, Leroy Merlin
The company actively contributes to the closed-loop economy by offering the market innovative solutions for after-sales service and maintenance services based on process digitization, modern logistics solutions, and Business Intelligence reporting.
GTX Service handles stock-reaching 122 600 SKUs and around 100,000 annual orders. It also provides training, supplies service outlets and shops, and fully handles the claims process, enabling retailers to meet their obligations to the customer in the most efficient way.
Collaboration
GTX Service is an organization with web services in 7 European Union countries. The entire infrastructure supporting online shops and B2B services for customers was maintained within a single, centralized infrastructure. This made resource management, application development, and even ongoing system updates very difficult. Security and performance issues also needed to be improved.
After completing an initial audit and defining the client's needs, we migrated all resources to a dedicated server provided by Scaleway. Although it was not the cheapest solution available, we managed to reduce the cost of the new environment by more than half compared to the previous one, and the parameters of the selected machine best suited GTX Service's needs.
The resources we migrated were 5 VPS, which, after the audit, we managed to reduce to three (two were merged with each other, and one proved redundant in the new infrastructure).
We moved the GTX Service infrastructure to a dedicated server we had bought earlier, which we split into several virtual machines. Once all resources had been moved, we deployed Cloudflare to secure the client's sites.
Summary
For GTX Services, we migrated resources, spinning them off from a global structure shared by the corporate group to an independent infrastructure dedicated to all seven countries served by the Company. We also carried out a security and performance audit of the infrastructure; as a result, we proposed an optimal solution to the client, which we implemented by building the new infrastructure in the Scaleway environment. We are currently providing the Client with a 24/7 administration service.
